The Bedford to Kimbolton road climbs slowly until it reaches the top of Cleat Hill to view the panorama of Bedford below. Then plunging down to the cross roads at Ravensden, it climbs steeply to the water tower that jealously guards northeast Bedfordshire. Set alongside woods that glow yellow in the autumn sunshine, in the distance past rolling hills, the high plateau of Thurleigh can be seen. The College Equestrian Centre is a championship quality venue within the Midlands / Home Counties region of the UK. The venue is easily accessible from most of the country being located within the A1 / M1 corridor, with easy access from the A14 (& M6). The College is a commercial Equestrian Centre (not an agricultural college) committed to develop as a venue for all equestrian activities from a local to National level. The Bolnhurst Stables Trust is an interdenominational Christian charity (registration no. 327398) which has sponsored a number of projects since the Centre was founded in 1984. Our trustees and senior staff are members of various local churches and respected contributors to the local community.
THURLEIGH FARM CENTRE
Thurleigh Farm & Adventure Playground is an open farm with indoor and outdoor adventure play equipment. We have a small number of animals including pigs, sheep, ponies llama and goats. The indoor play area consists of slides, ball ponds and a sand pit. Outdoor are climbing frames, playhouses, trampolines pedal carts and tractors. There is a wood to explore and a Maize Maze in season. Visitors can meet the animals at any time but during peak periods we have 1 or 2 animal feeding and bunny cuddling sessions each day. Also during peak periods (weekends and school holidays) we run a schedule of activities ranging from tractor rides to pony and fire engine rides to mini-quads and bungee trampolines. These activities are inclusive of the entry price. There is a caf serving hot and cold meals throughout the day and there are picnic tables indoors and outdoors for visitors wishing to bring their own refreshments
